Oculus released an update that allows you to use USB 2.0 cables for Oculus Link, that even works with the Oculus Quest charging cable that came in the box.

This is good news because this means that anyone who buys an Oculus Quest VR headset now can play PC VR games out of the box. If they have a gaming PC or laptop at least. This kinda came out of nowhere, so I did some testing… and here are the results.
EDIT: It could be that you need to opt-in the beta channel of your Oculus Home app if you’re not on V17. You can do this in the Settings – Beta – Toggle on “Public Test Channel”.
